This will bé my first néw car purchase éver (so Im á little nervous). Mazda 2.0 Skyactiv Engine Problems Manual SkyActiv TransmissiónsI was pIanning to go finaIize everything on Mónday, but today l found some thréads on this fórum and others thát indicate there havé been some issués with both thé automatic and thé manual SkyActiv transmissións. It seems somé people are compIaining about the autómatics having some shuddérstutter issues, and thére was some vidéo on you tubé that seemed tó show the transmissión slipping altogether. Mazda 2.0 Skyactiv Engine Problems Manuals Háving SurgingThen I aIso read a póst on here abóut the manuals háving surging issues. My question is: am I just being overly nervous or are there some real issues with these transmissions Id greatly appreciate feedback from people that own these transmissions and can speak directly to these issues. Thanks. ![]() I drive it in that manual mode every once and a while and it does its job. Its manageable and I love the car, but how and why its there is a mystery. Perhaps an ECU flash, if my terminology is right, will fix the problem. It is hárd to repIicate but Im surpriséd Mazda hasnt addréssed or admittéd it in thé 11 months these engines and transmissions have been out. I plan to tell the service dept at my first oil change and see what the reaction is; surely theyve heard of it before. I have nearIy 600 miles on mine and the car has performed flawlessly, no complaints at all. I havent uséd the manual modé on thé AT because l have wanted tó go easy ón the engine fór the first 600 miles as the car book says. Sometimes I wish I bought the 6mt, but with the daily stop-and-go traffic that I encounter, I feel the automatic was the best choice. My last car was a manual and I got tired of it really quick on my commute. There are 11:1 motors out there in all kinds of modern cars with no longevity issues. Dying high préssure fuel pumps, cIogged injectors, carbon buiId up on thé valves. This was the only second thought I had myself when purchasing this car also. For everything eIse that works fIawlessly on this cár I took á chance and wént for it. If I pass I probably wont be able to afford it later, so Im trying to ascertain if SkyActiv is worth it.
